Safety Considerations

Choking hazard: Vinyl stickers, backing paper, and transfer tape are not toys. Keep away from children under 3 and pets that may chew or swallow them.

Application surfaces: Do not apply stickers over safety labels, warning labels, ventilation openings, or serial number plates on electronics or vehicles, as this can obscure required information or affect device cooling.

Vehicles: Do not apply decals in a way that obstructs a driver's field of view (mirrors, windshield sightlines) or covers required lighting/reflective elements — this may violate local vehicle regulations. I do not have a verified source for specific jurisdictional rules; check your local transport authority if this applies to you.

Adhesive residue: Some adhesives can leave residue or discolour sensitive plastics or painted surfaces over long exposure, particularly with heat. Test on an inconspicuous area first before applying to valuable or irreplaceable items.

The custom-made sticker packs are made in the UK by a specialist printer called Sticker Gizmo. They print everything in-house and the company is run by real contactable humans!

Material: Premium Vinyl - glossy polypropylene film

Backing Release Paper: kraft paper

Adhesive: Permanent water borne acrylic

Printing: Solvent free environmentally friendly toner with a high level of de-inkability and guaranteed to be recyclable.
Full CMYK printing including white ink

RECYCLING:
Label, Finish & Adhesive: As the label is made from Polypropylene it is suitable for normal recycling when uncoated, with gloss varnish or laminate finishes (which are Polypropylene based). The adhesive is removed in the recycling process.

Backing Release Paper: This can be recycled by using a specialist process which “washes off” the silicone or other release agent allowing the pulp to be recycled. Only specialised recyclers can do this, and you would need to check with your recycling authority.

Sticker Gizmo is Certified Zero Label Waste to Landfill, so all our label waste is recycled in this way.

Surface preparation: Clean the target surface with isopropyl alcohol (approximately 70–90%) and let it dry fully. Residue such as dust, oil, or wax will reduce adhesion.

Temperature: Apply at room temperature, generally 15–24°C (59–75°F). Adhesives bond poorly in cold conditions and may shift on very warm surfaces before curing.

Temperature extremes: Prolonged exposure to high heat (e.g., inside a car in summer) can soften adhesive and cause shifting or lifting at edges. Prolonged freezing temperatures can make vinyl brittle and prone to cracking if flexed.

Surface type: Vinyl adheres best to smooth, non-porous surfaces (glass, metal, sealed plastic, coated laptop shells). It performs poorly on textured, porous, or unsealed surfaces (raw wood, fabric, brick).

Air bubbles: Use a squeegee or flat card, working from the center outward, to minimize trapped air.

Curing time: Adhesives generally reach full bond strength within 24–72 hours. Avoid washing or flexing the applied surface heavily during this window.

CLEANING:
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, which can scratch laminate.

Avoid solvent-based cleaners (acetone, strong alcohol-based glass cleaners) directly on the sticker surface, as these can degrade ink or laminate over time.

For stickers on frequently handled items (laptops, phone cases), periodic gentle cleaning reduces buildup of oils that can lift edges.

REMOVAL:
Heat method: A hairdryer on low-medium heat softens adhesive, making peeling easier and reducing residue.
Peeling angle: Pull slowly at a low angle (close to parallel with the surface) rather than straight up, to reduce tearing and residue transfer.

Residue removal: Isopropyl alcohol or a dedicated adhesive remover can dissolve leftover adhesive on most hard, non-porous surfaces. Test on a hidden spot first, since some remover products can affect certain plastic or painted finishes.
